Music Videos DUE THIS WEEK

Time Management Tips:
1.Crews: Careful not to ‘over film’
2.Editors:  SCAN EACH CLIP from start to finish - Use every possible ‘filler’ shot

3.Shorten your Song – FADE it OUT professionally

Content Control Requirements:
Reminder: There are 14-year-olds in our classes and YOU are all TV Producers putting out

a product… It is your job to CUT SONG LYRICS or SCENES THAT CONTAIN

INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT FOR MINORS in the classroom setting.

Yes - it is OK to ask Kuhn about content concerns :)

Add Insert Shots to your Music Video

If you have long lip-sync shots, you must ADD INSERT SHOTS or Cutaways so your audience won't be bored.

Inserts / Cutaways can be short filler shots such as walking, waving, running, laughing, etc. Their purpose is to break up the long shots for a professional looking product.

Add an Insert Shot: Double click on any filler shot to open it, then use 'Mark In' to set a start point and 'Mark Out' to set an end point under your Source Monitor to select the parameters of your filler shot:

You can click and drag this shot directly from the monitor to your timeline on any video track above your long shot.

Your layers will look like:

This is a little extra editing with a big payoff: your video will appear to move faster and will have a higher production value - which translates as additional grade points for your group.
