Categories Definition:
·
Novice = team with students currently
enrolled only in AVTF Y [level one]
and not level two or above
·
Advanced = team with students who completed
level one are currently taking AVTF II and up
General Requirements:
·
Each team can have up to 10 members
·
Half of the members must either currently or have been enrolled in
video production courses
·
Adults/younger children can be in their movies – 1 spoken line
each
·
Non-speaking extras can be used (not part of the 10)
·
Film must contain creative use of assigned Character Name, b)
Prop, c) Line of dialogue word for word
·
Props must be
interacted with or used in some way, not just background
·
Each team choose from the genres: Comedy, Drama, Action, and
Suspense
·
You have until Friday, November 8, 2019 to
plan, shoot, edit, and submit film
·
Movie must be five minutes (05:00:00) or less
·
No bloopers or out-takes allowed
Slating:
·
Slating is for Judges’ identification and contain the following:
o
Slates (white title over black screen) must be 5 seconds or less
and do not count as part of film time.
o
The title on the slate must have this
information:

Film Title ,
Team Name , Genre , and Category (Novice or Advanced)

Closing credits must be 10 seconds or less and do not count as
part of film time
Footage:
·
All footage must be original and shot during the competition
window (10 days).
·
You may not use video clips from projects already completed for
another purpose.
Audio/Music:
·
Royalty-free audio/music is encouraged for use in your film.
·
Groups may use 1:00 of music with a copyright if they verify with
YouTube Music Policies page that their song is not blocked. There is no guarantee that the copyright policy
will remain current. Movies can be blocked on YouTube due to copyright claims at
any time.
·
All music must be cited in the credits.
Number of Entries Allowed Per School: Four (4) total in any combination of Novice and
Advanced
Teacher Involvement
·
The teacher must preview all films prior to submission to verify
all rules have been followed. If any rule is broken or requirements not met,
the home teacher must disqualify the entry prior to submission to the contest.
·
The teacher may not make suggestions, critique, nor assist
in entries.
ABSOLUTE
DON’Ts:
·
Absolutely NO real or look-alike
tobacco, drugs, alcohol or firearms can appear in film.
·
Violence should be controlled or insinuated and not excessive due
to our all ages audience.
·
Absolutely no profanity spoken, mouthed
and bleeped or inferred.
·
No blatant Sexuality:
(such as couples lying down or in bed, showing too much flesh, or adopting an
attitude of a particular sexual preference.)
·
The name of your school cannot be visible anywhere in your movie;
not on shirts or walls.
·
Inadequate or inappropriate entries may
be withheld at any teacher’s or host’s discretion.
·
Judges may also disqualify any entry.
Awards Night (Location and Date TBA)
·
Only the top entries will be shown the night of awards, determined
based on the total entries and will be at the discretion of the host school.
·
1st, 2nd, 3rd place will be
awarded for each winning video within its division.
·
Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Character awards
will be given in each division.
·
Your proper behavior as an audience member is expected and
required. No one is to disturb other audience members at any time nor should
anyone be disruptive during the showing of each short film. All cell phones
must be turned off.
This is a school sanctioned project and event... all Cobb County
School Rules apply.
